Kitchen Exhaust - Fire Suppression
keeping minneapolis Safer, Cleaner, and better
...One kitchen at a time....
MInneapolis has some of the strictest requirements for kitchen hood exhaust cleaning in the nation...and so do we.
Trust us, its a good thing. It keeps insurance rates down; our firefighters safe; our environment cleaner, plus a happier kitchen staff and a cleaner kitchen equals better tasting food anyway.
In line with Minnesota state fire code Chapter 1 Section 104.3 & State Amendment 101.6 the city of Minneapolis and surrounding jurisdictions require a hood and duct inspection every six months; no matter what. That doesn't necessarily mean that you need to be cleaned though. If you have light enough cooking, it's certainly possible that we could measure the grease in your system, take pictures, send our documentation in to the local authority and save you money.
On the other hand, according to NFPA standards, if your establishment utilizes charbroiling or wok cooking you should be getting inspected/cleaned every three months(quarterly) though a permit would only be required every six months in Minneapolis.
We take our job seriously and our objective is always to clean the entire system to bare metal; though we're still running into jobs where the previous cleaning company either didn't care or wasn't qualified to perform the service. We pulled 42 pounds of grease out of just the hood the other night on a job in downtown Minneapolis. Apparently, the system was cleaned six months ago, but there is no way that there is that sort of build up in that short amount of time. With Granite Hood & Duct, you can rest assured we'll do the absolute best job possible. It's also the law that we report any deficiencies that are observed to you and the authority having jurisdiction. Any company that doesn't not only put you and your investment in jeopardy, but also themselves. The fire codes were implemented to keep your life and your property safe . Our company takes pride in our technicians in regards to the training, knowledge and professionalism they carry. Some common deficiencies.
